When is a Tope not a Tope?
When it's brown, snub nosed and spotty. Dave has caught many, many Tope in his time, but never one like this! The close-up of the head below shows the Ray-like mouth, short stumpy nose and the brown spots.
Dave Cook caught this fish along with several Tope off Pwllheli in mid-July. If you compare it to a fine 61 pounder caught the same day, the differences are obvious.
