A Garfish from Pwllheli Beach.
On a calm evening during the early Summer, Garfish regularly come close into the shore at Pwllheli Beach. These hard fighting fish are readily caught on small spinners or by float fishing a small Mackerel bait close to the surface. In fact, they come in so close, and in such numbers that fly fishing a streamer from the shore is a likely way to get some exciting salt-water fly fishing!
This fish fell to the mighty Dexter Wedge. Such a versatile spinner and accountable for so many fish.
A word of warning. Watch out for the teeth on these fish. This one took a chunk out of my arm before I put it back!
